I haven't updated for a year
Recently, I am having a summer program in a community college which is called Introduction to Law for high school students. I like law and politics. It is not easy because there are many new vocabulary words that I haven't met before, but it still interests me. I will earn 4 college credits eventually, which will look good on my record when I submit my application to colleges.
Also, I borrowed a book from a library called Being Logical because I want to learn something logic and avoid making logic mistakes or using fallacies. I had a moot court in the City Hall with my class four days ago, and I was so surprised the kids could be so logical and rational when arguing, which most Chinese kids could not accomplish.
Today we celebrated my dad's birthday. Happy Birthday to him.

Function, Manifestations, and Necessity of Religion
Functions of Religion
I have already explained how religion can be formed. Religion exists in order to rule over mankind although much truth has been included in religion. Religion rules with the concept "God" so that people may worship, obey, honor, or even fear God. Therefore, people may put their trust in God. There is truth in religion and people may believe in truth because of God and attains moral and conscience. In other words, another function of religion is to let people receive conscience and moral through "God." God functions as a supervisor and a master.
Function I: To rule over mankind and a tool for mind control.
Function II: To give people conscience, morality, and some truth.
Functions of Religion
Function I:
Since I come to the US, I have interacted with many Christians. They are really crazy about this faith in God. When I was in the Church, I have observed how they will pray earnestly and to read the Bible. I often have a funny feeling about them: Aren't they crazy? How can they worship God like an emperor?
This is how the first function of religion is manifested: The mind of the believers are controlled by religion. Believers made themselves to worship God like a dog and treat God like an emperor. Why? It is all because their mind is controlled and they put their total trust in the Bible. If a pastor ordered them in the name of God, 99% of the believers will obey.
Function II:
When I go to Church, believers are usually very kind and courteous. Everyone is very nice and they may even organize trips to other cities. (Last time a church even organize a tour to Chicago!) Church may treat you free meals. Sometimes churches may even help the homeless and many religious organizations had helped the refugees during the wars in the past.
This is the second function of religion: guides people towards goodness and truth.
Necessity of Religion
If this is so, is religion necessary? If we depend on religion, although we may be ruled by religion, we may still attain truth and become good. However, I believe man do not need religion. The intelligence and wisdom of man are already enough to help us to attain morality and conscience. We can depend on our own and we don't need something that do not exist and made up to guide us.
Man has our own moral authority so that we can know goodness and conscience, we don't need something fake. Therefore, we don't need God, we don't need religion, we just need ourselves.
